When Land Rover developed the all-new 2020 Range Rover Evoque they paid specific attention to sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint. Every single Range Rover Evoque uses up to 72.8-lbs of natural and recycled materials. These recycled materials come from post-consumer or post-industrial sources within the supply chain.
Land Rover went beyond just using recycled materials and chose to use responsibly-sourced interior materials. The 2020 Range Rover Evoque still has its luxurious feel while offering innovative textiles, trim finishes, and two new available seat options. Instead of leather customers can choose seats upholstered with Kvadrat. Kvadrat, developed by Danish textile experts, is a blend of durable wool and Dinamica suedecloth. This material is made from 53 recycled plastic bottles per vehicle.
Another upholstery option is a new Eucalyptus textile made from natural fibers. These materials uses a lot less water when grown than traditional materials. The Eucalyptus textile is paired with a new lightweight performance material not from animals. Both upholstery options are an excellent premium alternative to leather.
At launch Land Rover offers an all-new hybrid electric powertrain for the Evoque, which reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Our local Land Rover dealer, Land Rover South Dade (FL) says 48-volt MHEV powertrain features advanced engineering to collect energy that is normal lost and store it in a battery located under the floor. When the driver applies the brakes at speeds below 11 mph the engine will shut off to save power. The energy that is stored in the battery is reused when the driver accelerates. The new engine makes the Range Rover Evoque an excellent vehicle in stop and go city traffic.
Customers also have the option of a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gas engine. The turbocharged engine produces 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive.To stay on par with Land Rover’s goal of sustainability this engine is designed for clean and efficient combustion.
While Land Rover paid close attention to reducing the carbon footprint of the Range Rover Evoque and using recycled material they also thought about the end of the Evoque’s life. At the end of the Range Rover Evoque life the vehicle is designed to by 85% recyclable/reusable and 95% recoverable.
