Windows 10 launched last summer, but there are still some users who don’t know about all the new functions that come with the new operating system. If you are one of those people, have no fears because we got you covered. Here are some of the best new functions of Windows 10.
Cortina.
Those who use Microsoft smartphones are familiar with Cortina, but for those who don’t, it is a virtual assistant that you can instruct to do things through voice command or the click of a button. Cortina is a very handy helper, especially for people that do a lot of multi-tasking.
You can ask Cortina questions like “Where is the closest restaurant?” The virtual assistant also provides advanced assistance like giving directions, dictating short notes, or creating reminders.
Microsoft Edge Browser.
This is the new default browser that comes with Windows 10, and the replacement browser for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. The new browser has a lot of new features like a screen grab tool that allows you to doodle on the screen using the touchscreen feature of your PC.
Cortana is also built into the browser, which allows it to tailor searches to your needs. The Microsoft Edge browser is very impressive and you should give it a try if you already haven’t.
New Start Menu.
The biggest complaint about Windows 8 was the removal of the Start Menu, which led a lot of people to look for patches just to have a start menu with the Windows 8 OS. Microsoft must have listened to the complaints because the Start Menu makes its triumphant return with the Windows 10 OS.
For those that actually got used to the tile system used in Windows 8, Microsoft allows you to continue using the tile system or switch to the trusted Start Menu with the Windows 10 OS.
Windows Store App.
With the addition of the Windows Store app, you can now do your shopping online without having to download another app. At the Windows store, you can get the latest versions of other Microsoft products like Microsoft Office and many more.
Virtual Desktop.
With the new Task View, you can have multiple browsers displaying at the same time on your screen, which is great for multitasking.
Action Center.
This is a very useful feature because it alerts you to any new notifications you have. If you receive a new email, someone liked a Twitter post of yours, you have an event on your calendar, or the system needs an update, a message will slide into your screen and let you know what is going on, which is very useful.
